Defense Center is a type of malware called Rogueware. Rogueware is designed to trick computer users into buying fake antivirus and security software.
Once Defense Center gets to your PC, it begins scanning the entire system. Please note that these “system” scans are programmed in advance and the results are coded into the Trojans. In addition, pop-up warnings will be routinely displayed on the infected users screen.
Like its twins “Protection Center” and “Data Protection”, Defense Center is a Trojan that rides in on the back of some legitimate download, and immediately starts enslaving your hard drive. Another similar Rogueware is “Digital Protection”.
