Disclaimer: As with any software upgrade, new release, etc, it is strongly encouraged to fully test the new builds within your environment prior to installing network wide.
Do NOT uninstall the existing Admin Console until ALL systems have been successfully converted over to the new Admin Console version
Before you begin: Please make sure you remember the Product Key and Activation Number from the License Manager tab on the old Admin Console. You will need these items to activate the new Admin Console after your uninstall of the old Admin Console.
Please know you can always take advantage of our Admin Console Manual and our Knowledge Base articles for additional upgrading tips and procedures . The new installation of the Admin Console will require a reboot of the workstation systems (in most cases), so please keep this in mind when determining the best time to deploy the upgrade.
Upgrading procedure: To upgrade Thirtyseven4 Admin Console, please perform the following steps: 1. The new version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console can and should should be installed on the server that already has the old version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console. However, it does not have to be installed on the same server.
2. During installation, the new version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console will detect the existing settings and display the following prompt during installation:

3. Click Yes to proceed with the noted Multiserver installation.
4. Upon completion of installation of the new version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console, open the web-based management console of the older version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console and perform the following steps:
a) Click Administrator Settings -> Admin Server.
b) Type the Server Name or IP Address of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console in Server Name/IP textbox. (if installed on the same Server, the IP Address will be the same as the existing Admin Console version - if the new Admin Console is installed on a new Server, you will need to type in the IP Address of the new Server)
c) Type the port number of the new Admin Console in Port textbox (the default port assignment for Admin Console 4.5 is port 5039).
d) Click the Apply button.
This will send a notification to all connected Thirtyseven4 Antivirus Clients about the new version of the Thirtyseven4 Admin Console, and all Thirtyseven4 Clients will be redirected to the new version the Thirtyseven4 Admin Console.
5. The new version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console will check for any old Client Agents in the network. Upon detection, Thirtyseven4 Admin Console will automatically uninstall existing old Client Agents and install new Client Agents.
6. Once all the Client Agents in the network are upgraded, the older version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console can be uninstalled from the server system (you can determine this by looking at the Client Reports settting of both the existing and new Admin Console). Before uninstallation note down the Product key and Activation Number of the older version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console.
7. Upon completion of uninstallation, reactivate the new version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console using the Product key and Activation Number of the older version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console.
Things to Note: 1. Once upgrade is started, all lower version clients should be upgraded to higher version clients within 30-days (exact time depends on environment and network size). 2. If the web-based management console of the lower version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console is configured using IIS with SSL support enabled, on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows XP operating system, then configuring the web-based management console of the higher version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console using IIS with SSL support enabled, on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Microsoft Windows XP operating system, will not be possible. In such a scenario you can install and configure the newer version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console web-based management console with Apache Web Server.
3. If you are uninstalling the older version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console, configured using Apache Web Server, then do not uninstall Apache Server during uninstallation of the older version of Thirtyseven4 Admin Console. |
